Step-by-step instructions for pairing your Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III with the Intervalometer for Canon app over Bluetooth.
Press the navigation button to choose the Wireless settings tab.
Select [Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connection] and press SET.
Turn the dial to select [Connect to smartphone] and press SET.
Turn the dial to select [Add a device to connect to] and press SET.
Turn the dial to select [Do not display] and press SET — the Intervalometer app is already installed, so no QR code is needed.
Turn the dial to select [Pair via Bluetooth] and press SET.
The camera shows a message indicating pairing is in progress.
Make sure Bluetooth is turned on in your phone's Settings, then unlock your phone and start the Intervalometer app for Canon.
In the main control screen, tap the camera icon in the top-right corner labelled Add new camera.
The app scans for nearby Bluetooth devices and lists available cameras.
Tap the nickname of your PowerShot G7 X Mark III when it appears in the list to begin pairing.
Your phone shows a Bluetooth pairing request. Confirm the request to allow the Intervalometer app to connect to the PowerShot G7 X Mark III. On iOS, also tap [Pair] when prompted.
Turn the dial to select [OK] and press SET.
Press SET on the pairing notification screen that follows to complete pairing.
Pairing is complete. Your PowerShot G7 X Mark III is listed as the active camera in the Intervalometer app, and the main control screen is ready to trigger the shutter.
Once the connection is established, you can start and stop exposures from your phone without touching the camera.
If you change phones or run into connection problems, delete the existing pairing and set it up again.
